All Locked Up

Dug a bunch of stuff out of a new field. The pancake lock is of a rare variety. A Pulsar watch. The pic of the lock and a part off the top of a model T coil. ID credited to creskol. It was nice getting out and playing my favorite game. Arty

That's very interesting how he cleaned it up. Maybe with some kind of grinder or metal brush. Seems to go against the conventional wisdom that collectors like the patina and age look.

I have a rare one as well with a dark green patina. hadn't considered trying to clean it that vigorously but maybe I'll think about it now.

Hello billpa, he recut the levers and springs and cuts his own keys.

Lock cleaned up nice,and he found a key for it.

BobinSouthVA, the lock was soaked in marvel and hit with a sonic cleaner. The lock itself was blasted with walnut media and a fine media on the bad spots then it was put back together and repatinated where the damage was to match. The lock is worth around $400. refinished and is in one of Americas largest collections. Arty
