Hi guy, it's been awhile since I last posted. I was driving by a school site
near where I live and low and behold they were tearing the sod out of the
football field. I guess they are going to put in asto turf or something. Anyway
they were dumping all the top soil on the schools baseball diamond fields. I started
calling all the guys I knew who had detectors to come down to the school site right
away.

In the picture is a Gold Football I found in the topsoil, plus a 1941 silver Quarter, a 1939
Canadian penny, some sort of a foreign coin and a cheap ring. I also walked away with a
bunch of cork bottles, one of them being a little brown cork bottle with the writing Kenton
Pharmacy, Covington, Ky. on it.

My buddy found this button, a gold broach, many silver dimes.
Other friends found lots of everything. We are still hunting the dirt and still finding
goodies. One guy found a 1871 silver dollar. I'll try to take a picture of the site and
put it in here. HH, Ringfinder

Cool. Isn't it exciting? Hey, I didn't get a call! ;) :D Maybe you should have done a little cherry picking before calling in the reserves...

Fun stuff. Silver dollar - now that would be neat to pull from the ground. ;D ;D

Yeah i suppose I should have cherry picked a little, but was afraid
they were going to bury too much, so called in my frieds. Not sure if
they would have done it for me, but there is pleanty for all.

Very nice finds and I see that scraped areas are the best for finding older coins and items. Congratulations!

Nice finds and congrats on the silver and gold! The foreign coin is from Austria, a 2 Schilling coin I think. HH, Mike

Nice Finds.... Are you finding the stuff in the dirt they took out or the dirt left on the field?
