charred ring with diamonds?

Our first ring find together was what I thought a diamond ring.. I just have one question to you all.. Are cz's able to withstand being put into a fire?... We went to two different jewelers and they both said cz. The stones are small, in a daisy pattern and very pretty. too bad the ring was charred. I don't know anything about cz's..
Any info on these stones would be helpful. Do they still look good after being charred? these did...The only problem that I had having the ring looked at was the first jeweler just took a quick look at it and said CZ.. what kind of id was that???? He didn't even use his magnifying glass..... the second jeweler did use his eyeglass and said CZ.. they looked pretty enough to be diamonds, still in great shape even after being incinerated.

Thanks

Ask them to use a diamond tester...a little electronic thingy with a sharp point on the end.
