met up with Kyle (Nooberz) today for a hunt at an old school in my area. It was obvious after about 1/2 hour this place has been worked over hard and was cherry picked of silver. I ran TTF about 90% of the time trying to find some stuff the others have missed.

I was digging all nickel signals that were 4" or more, payed off with a no dater buff, and 2 silver nickels.
I also got 12 wheats, 1929 Canadian, and a 1907 indian. And a few random items, cufflink, broken ring, etc....it was a good day, fun to get out!

also the buff appears to be a type 1- 1913-D..........how can I tell you say?

well the buffalo is standing on raised ground, not flat, 1913 was only year this was on the coin, and if you look close you can see the top of the D on reverse, where mint mark is supposed to be.

I always seem to find a place that has been hit hard. Persistence does pay off, dig it more there is bound to be good stuff left in there.

The thaw has started

At least you got to get out and do some Detecting , that is good. And those are some good finds for a picked over area .
Our Snow is gone but now we have rain and cold lol.
I hope to be able to get out this week myself.

Wow! :o For an old school site that's been pounded for years, you did very well! :notworthy:
Here's a bit of info on your 1929 Canadian Penny.

Cheers,
Dave

1929 Standard ................................... VF-30 $ 1.25

One of the 1929 1 cent dies the final 9 in the date was placed slightly higher than the rest of the digits, these are actually fairly scarce. There is a very good illustration of this type in the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian coins (2010 edition).

1929 HIGH 9 ............................. VG-8 $ Rare
