i believe there are a couple makes of 1864; i think 1864 L is the other.. i don't know the diff off hand. Nice job...

If it has the L it will be worth more,I found one two years ago.Check in the coin red book,it will show you where the l should be

That may be an L, tip of the bust looks pointed. Jim your pickin up alot hangin with me :wink:

Edit: broke out the new red book, it is an L, but collectability is down unless the L is visible, :dontknow: I have one also with an L not visible, redbook has g4 @ 60$ and vg @ 85$, the one I have pictured in my avatar is a no L, see how rounded the bust point is.

Thanks for looking into it. I'll have to look at it to see if it has an "L". This is exactly why I would rather find IH's anyday over modern silver dimes. I have sold at least four totaling $300. I have at least 15 IH's that would fetch $25 - $100 each. You would have to find 150 mercs to get there. I know its not about the money though, I have fun finding the stuff. Good day!
