    1866, 1868 Shields & 1864 Indian

First shield Nicks I have ever found. All of these coins were found within a 5 foot radius. Probably a spill. Hunting a new area of the woods that seems promising.

That may be an L, tip of the bust looks pointed. Jim your pickin up alot hangin with me

Edit: broke out the new red book, it is an L, but collectability is down unless the L is visible, I have one also with an L not visible, redbook has g4 @ 60$ and vg @ 85$, the one I have pictured in my avatar is a no L, see how rounded the bust point is.

Thanks for looking into it. I'll have to look at it to see if it has an "L". This is exactly why I would rather find IH's anyday over modern silver dimes. I have sold at least four totaling $300. I have at least 15 IH's that would fetch $25 - $100 each. You would have to find 150 mercs to get there. I know its not about the money though, I have fun finding the stuff. Good day!
