Rev. War site today = 1690's IRISH William and Mary Halfpenny

Went to a site today with Ryan & Aaron. Came up with some decent finds. KGIII, Buttons, musket ball, buck shot? One coin & button I need to ID. Coin says Maria Dei ?????????????? Aaron found a link to a William & Mary penny which very well be it. If so this coin broke me into the 1600's !!!! The button has a flower or thistle not sure if it is military. Also found the A$$ end of a lead tiger or something.

Looks like you broke into the 1600's for sure. That is a Wm & Mary Halfpenny!

All are nice digs for sure!

Very cool finds there baspinall! :o
As you mentioned already, definitely the hindend of a southbound Tiger! :laughing7:

Here are a couple of examples I found; obviously not exactly the same, but similar.
These two pieces would originally date from the mid to late 1800's.

Nice finds,

1700's site for sure. The coin you talk about sounds canadian. I have some old 1800's silver with her on it.

Re: Rev. War site today = couple unknowns

Congrats on a good hunt. The MARIA DEI copper is not a William and Mary Halfpenny, but a IRISH William and Mary Halfpenny, I believe the date range is 1690-94 according to this paragraph I am posting. The back would have a harp on it, and you notice the W&M Halfpenny says ET MARIA, where yours ends with MARIA DEI as is how the Irish ones do. The button appears 100% civilian..
