Flippin Stick n good luck :)
got off work and went for a stroll in the desert, i did not have my detector, plus some of my fav finds have been surface and a few wheats the last few weeks. all i found was some broken glass and this cool stone marble. this one is kinda odd tho, its not perfectly round being if you set it on a table it wont roll unless gently pushed. the cool thing is it has 5 small white dots with darker brown circles surrounding them, sorta like a cornia, a odd one but very cool in my view;)

That's a clay marble and probably over 100 years old. The dots are from the mold it was made from, I have two of those I found here in Germany but the dots are black. HH and cool find, Mike

Nice find...are you near an old mission? I just read an article on how the mission children of New Mexico had made clay marbles. They had learned from the Indian children.

Re: old different stone marble, above ground

I love to find marbles while I am out digging up the landscape. After a good hard rain is the best time to go "marbling" I have found. I find it interesting that even in hard times the grownups find tme to make up a little something to amuse the kids. Great find. Montyi

i understand the KGC would at times mark their cache sites with a handful of this type marble.....of course you would have to be a believer in the group and their caches to believe it.........gldhntr
