Texas Relics ~ Today's hunt with TC

My bud Albert, Texan connection and I got together for a hunt today at a couple of old spots. One was once a 20's-40's church (nothing there now), and the other was a much older plantation homestead that we have detected numerous times before. Eight quick hours later (it's amazing how time flies when you're having fun) we came away with lots of junk ......and a few keepers.

Below is a pic of my better finds. I hope Albert will post his, he found among other things a cool pocket knife and an 1899 V-nickel.

That buckle in the upper left looks military.

Sentinel, do you happen to know if the sash buckle is military related?

Also could someone ID the bullet...and does it date back to the CW period?

that bullet looks like a .54 or .58 caliber 3-ringer and is definitely Civil War era.. the sash buckle looks silver or heavily silver plated and I doubt can be linked to anything military, although many civilian types with flower designs like yours are found in military camps...


just took a 2nd look at the bullet, does it have a flat base? if so, looks like a Merrill (also CW-era)

Id post my stuff but Rick Kinda kicked my But this time out. i did get a 1899 v and a Pocket knife that's fast deteriorating,,
