A friend I have bought a belt buckle with a 10.00 coin. He new it was fake for only 12.00 dollars.it was a 1899. Long story short . A Guy seen him in town and had noticed the buckle.. The Guy looked at it and said it was real. He took the coin to a coin shop and the have him 500.00 for it. I told my friend today he was stupid for selling it. Turns out it was worth slot more

Hey, I'd believe that one before this one, but I know this one is true!

Sounds reasonable to me,
I run into dealers who don't know the value of their wares fairly often.
I posted the engraved 1820 spoon & half a dozen other silver spoons,
the 1820 was $10, the other $1 :icon_sunny:
Congrats to your friend

could have been a 1899 $10.00 Liberly head gold, goes for around 900.00, so 500.00 ant bad for on the spot.

I prolly would of had to hold on to it if the dealer offered me $500 on the spot especially seeing as how the gold value in the coin alone is around $675 at todays price.
