One of my hunting buddies found his second plate today. We were hunting an old abandoned town in Southern Illinois, it is on the 1871 maps, but not on the 1901 maps. It is farmland now that is in bean stubble. This site has only produced 1 coin, and it was a half dime also found by him. This sent me on a cussing frenzy, seldom heard in these parts:) The first plate is in great shape, and was found in the front yard of old homestead. This one appears to be a little different than the first. The wreath is intact on this one, it was missing on first. This one appears not to have the numbers stamped on the back of it. Any input would be appreciated, Thanks for looking!
