As a Newbie of all of 3 weeks in the hobby and finding mostly pulltabs and trash I have found my first string of coins.? Yippee!? I finally figured out how to use the discriminator settings and am begining to listen right.? While not much, it took an hour and a half of looking near the ball fields in a park near my house.? Interesting to me is the penny in the lower left, a 1996, shows the most corrosion.? I guess this is because it is mostly zinc instead of copper??

Nice job, Tom. 8) Your on your way. Next stop hopefully will be some Silver. You are right about the Zinc pennies. After awhile you will probably get tired of digging the zincs and throw them away like i do, as they are more of a nuisance than of value.

I'm sure you'll get better with the machine. When I first started I had a little Rodio Shack unit that I thought wouldn't even detect anything over 3" down, but now that I have the hang of it,, I can detect a dime at 6" to 7"
The good stuffs always in the next hole you dig,,, so keep dig'n
