Wow, what a hunt. Hit my trusty field this evening and hit the jackpot. Second target ten minutes into hunt I dig an Indian Head. I'm thinking great, another 190something Indian. Indian heads just don't cut it when you have been digging Large Cents...that is unless it's an 1877! Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the second 7 pop out from the dirt. I had to go back to the car to get my camera for this one. Well I got to click a few more pics ten minutes later as I pulled a 1798 Draped Bust Cent and shortly after that an 1801. I have found 7 LC from this field...5 in a an acre square. The 1877 in the same general area as well. Can't wait to get back out there, I'll need a new shovel though as the spade broke in half. I dug the last coin with the handle!

Nice going on the Large Cents and key date Indian!

I would highly recommend investing in a digging tool that is made for metal detecting. I like the Relic Pro from Predator Tools http://predatortools.com/. They can take anything and come with a 5 year warranty.
