Found some sweet buttons and several mystery items

stopped at this spot I found the other day was hoping for some old coins but it wasn't to be the very first target I dug was the flat button with "Gilt" on the back,
gave me hopes for this site, dug another flat button that sure looks like a tombac, shank is broke off, then a third button that back is rusted away.

I found all the other stuff all over the site, what is it?? looks like lead, but it is pitted...any clues?

no I detect all weekend and when it is nice i go out after work for an hour or so. I am off at 3pm.

I usually refer to that sort of metal as pot metal. Its an alloy of various sorts so that phrase covers a lot of bases. Looks to be furniture hardware though, and maybe even casket hardware lol.

well I think you hit the nail on the head, because this park WAS a cematary in the 1800's and they moved it in early 1900s........There is absolutely NO iron in this park, so I don't think there was any house or structure ever here. If they moved a cemetary is it possible that they broke off hardware from the caskets while digging them up?
