Took a trip to the field that recently yielded a 1780 1 Real.

Within the first 10 minutes I popped out an old thin button. Looked like a coin at first, but buttons are always welcome. Not 5 minutes later a 12-46 reading rings on the detector at only a couple inches - turned out to be an 1828 Large Cent - my first for the year!

The next hour produced little more than half of a button. I was about to move to a different part of a field when a signal that registered 11-39 came up. Thinking possible zincoln, I dig down but instead...out pops a small silver disc. What the heck can be this small? Pick it up and see the unmistakable reverse of capped bust silver! My first ever capped bust half dime and only my second capped bust ever. She's 1836 and I'm happy it wasn't a couple years newer (but I still would have gladly accepted seated)!

For the next two hours I only get a small tombac button and a little sunburn ;D.

Happy Hunting all!

Thanks MainRelic! It's a field I found last year and had some success. And, in a couple weeks it's going to be plowed and planted, so have to jump while the opportunity's there!

Thanks Herbie! With the way you're going, you'll probably find three this year, haha.
