Went back to the field where i found the cap eagle saturday. Still not able to break the 1700s barrier. These fields are old... Have to wait a few months now, today they planted potatoes... Got only three coins, a totally worn out 1 Pfennig, 2 Pfennig 1875 and 1 Silbergroschen 1842. Other finds were a part of a buckle, lead seal, gas mask part, artillery fuze, hair pin?thingy and the usual bullet/driving band stuff...

Silbergroschen. I can honestly say that I had never heard that monetary term before,
and just Googled me a new learnin.
And now my soul's desire is to find one.
Silbergroschen.
And it's Prussian.
What's not to like.

Its not that special Carl. The term Groschen is just the same as Dime. Its a ten Pfennig coin, like a dime is a ten Cent piece. I post You a pic of a 1924 Groschen found on the same field a day earlier together with the straigthened and cleaned cap eagle and the reverse of the Silbergroschen.
Thanks for looking! :icon_thumleft:

Ah, but here in America, Silbergroschen could be the brand name of a car, or even better, a beer.
Lots of idiots out here in America.
