This mornig we returned on the crash site of B-17 hoping to find something can permit us to identify it. We had no luck.

That's a nice bomb release switch with the guard still intact. Very nice! You certainly have a war-era bomber. The ser. no. might be tracked, but that won't be a simple matter. Might wanna call the History Detectives from PBS.

Thanks. Who are History Detectives? (I live in Italy). The B-17 must be the 42-5837 or the 42-30502 because these are the only B-17 crashed around my town.
