Went back to the place where I found my first large cent (1846). It was an old farmhouse that was original to this area, probably around 1800. I went back for an hour hunt today and found an interesting gold gilt copper item that I'm trying to get identified in the what is it forum.

Anyway, I also pulled a 1939 nickel out and this UMC shell. Does anyone have an idea as to date on this. Im assuming this precedes UMC merging with Remington?

UMC headstamp would date it to pre-1911. They were in business (1867-1911)
