Hit A new spot today and was hoping to find some copper. My very first signal was a 1951 nickle and then about 10 minutes later I got a high tone on the E-trac bouncing all over giving coin numbers 1-46 12-48 and some other numbers in between so I figured a copper lawn sprinkler. I dig down and see a big silver!!!!! I was like cool Morgan Dollar. Then I picked it up and the dirt dropped off and I saw the most Beautiful coin Ive ever dug!!!!!! A Draped Bust Half Dollar!!! I was so happy I started to shake and all I could say is omg omg omg its a Draped Bust!!!! I got this one on video but Im not sure if I will post because I just lost control and made an Idiot out of myself. Thanks for looking HH

This has to be over a $2000 coin from what i see the well worn circulated ones going for. And scarce to boot. What a score ! Congratulations! You gotta love this site. I love seeing what amazing things T-NET members find. ;D
Thanks, My coin is better then xf its probably closer to $5000 HH
I think it is more closer to 6,500.00 I believe you may have a small 3

edit: sorry I need to correct myself it is 5,500.00 it's only the large date sorry again

Absolutely wonderful find! Couldn't imagine the feeling of pulling that out of the ground!

It looks like yours may be O-103 - large 3 variety.

I checked Heritage auction archives and found some possible comparable ones:

Jan 4, 2011: 1803 50C Small 3 XF40 NGC. O-104, R.3 Sold for $2,185
April 26, 2011: 1803 50C Large 3 XF40 PCGS. O-101 Sold for $1,610
April 10, 2011: 1803 50C Large 3 XF45 PCGS. Doesn't say Overton #. Sold for $2,242
A pic of the 45 is attached.

EPIC!!!! Feel no shame on the video - Any of us would probably be foaming at the mouth to find that coin. I know I would have screamed on that find.

Congrats and enjoy this one!
