    Man, that's a real beauty.
I've been detecting since Jan. 2001. My oldest find is a lockplate to a flintlock rifle. My oldest coin is a 1837 Capped bust dime. My best find is a T. Miller Cavalry Button. I use the Minelab X-TERRA 705 and BH Tracker IV as a backup.

The coat of arms of Gabrielle-Emilie de Breteuil, marquise du Châtelet (1706-1749) somewhat resembles what you found.

Re: FRENCH WEST INDIES OLD GOLD RING AGAIN ?

If this is indeed a ring from the hand of Mademoiselle Gabrielle Émilie Le Tonnelier de Breteuil Marquise du Châtelet, you have truly found an amazing artifact. I read this entire synopsis of her life and found it amazingly fascinating. She was a colleague and lover of Voltaire, among many others, and one of the few women in France at her time who was involved in the sciences at a high level.

    I highly recommend the read.
Live each day as if it were your last.  Soak in and seek love and light and shine it upon everyone who will accept it.  Value your true friends like gold as they are more rare and valuable than you may ever know.  Live in integrity with all men.
