Drove around looking for a field to detect today, everything is planted or overgrown locally. Decided on a corn field as the corn is just popping up and is only about 2” high but first I went to our museum where I will be setting up a display soon. I wanted to see the display case I was given for my finds and fortunately, it isn’t so big as it is Spring and I don’t want to waste much time indoors, this is a Winter project. There is a lot happening at the museum and all the big dogs were there (Curators). Went back to the corn field and detected for an hour. This silver coin popped up but I wasn’t sure what it was. It was quickly IDed by my German forum friends as a Sachsen-Markgrafschaft Meißen Kurfürst Ernst, Albrecht und Wilhelm III. 1465-1482. Spitzgroschen 1475. Finally, a Medieval hammered coin, they don’t come easy here! Obverse of the coin.
