1800-1850 Dig Site Yields '69 IH, Civil War GS Button and more!

Hi Everyone,

Today marks the third week that I've been hunting this old settlement.
It's a detectorist's dream - no trash, no farm implement pieces and very little influence before or after the 1800-1850 time frame.
Every target dug is era-specific.

Here's today finds: (l-r)

Top: Spoon piece, trigger guard piece, fired lead ball
Middle: 2 inch point, 2 buckles, unidentified decorative object, lead balls
Bottom: Copper washer/bead?, 2 flat buttons, 1869 IHP, CW General Service button

I appreciate any feedback you may have on any of these items. I'm still learning about them.

Thanks and Happy Hunting,

~Indiana Digger~

Nice group of finds! That item in the second picture is very interesting, but I can't ID it. Hopefully someone here can. I can tell you the eagle button is a CW era General Service button, not a Staff Officers button.

I recently found a button just like yours and it was easily ID'd with the help of a tnetter with this site, which for some reason won't load for me right now but yea. Nice IH too.
