I FINALLY broke into the 1700's !!!!!!!!! 1773 Virginia Half Penny!

I was hunting an old farm today and this was the FIRST target I dug, I have absolutely NO idea what it is, but it has a clear date of 1773....man I am pumped up!!! I scratched it, sadly because it had roots all over, but right now I am so happy I don't even care. Before this my oldest coin was a undated capped bust dime. I still cannot believe I dug a colonial coin in OHIO!!!!! WooHoOOOOO :hello2: :laughing7: :headbang:

I took a bunch of pictures trying to get the best shot and angle....

Nice find on the VA. penny in ohio you will probably find more since VA. isn't all that far to travel but it is a bit unusual of a find awsome that it made the banner. I am still trying to break the 1700 year, broke the 1800 year with a couple Indian heads but nothing in the 1700's yet HH keep up the good work :icon_thumright:

Gives me hope that there's a 1700's coin in northern Indiana. Congrats on the find!

May I ask how deep it was, and how old was the tree she was tangled up in?

I am not good on aging trees, but it was rather large oak.....coin was 7-8" deep
