Trk5capt, yours is a Manoil toy soldier, cataloged as an M55 "31 Bomb Thrower — two grenades in pouch." (There's a nearly identical figure, but with three grenades instead.) It dates c. 1935-40 and lists for $10-15 in Good to Very Good condition.

Bomber, your toy soldier is a Barclay "B81A Army Doctor." (There are several varieties, with minor differences in base, hat, etc.; and there are also white-uniformed "Navy Doctor" versions.) It dates c. 1936-37 and lists for $8-12 in Good to Very Good condition.

Heres my only lead dude, he was exhumed on Sunday in my backyard. Still quite dirty after a bath & scrubbing with an old toothbrush. Should I soak him in olive oil? Any idea how old he is? He is 2 3/8 inches tall.
Ive been looking all over google for a match, but nothing yet. Found a site with a bunch of lead cowboys & indians but nothing like mine yet. I dont know how PBK does it! My eyes wont focus & I think they are starting to bleed! Ive gained even more respect for the time & effort he puts into identifying our dirty dug up crap!!! ;D

Civilman, it took some looking, but I finally managed to identify your soldier: Arcade "Sentry," c. 1939, $5. It was one of a 56-piece set that included five different types of figures (Sentry, Skirmisher, Sniper, Marksman, and Grenadier), as well as an ambulance, antiaircraft gun, and three planes... all for $1!

All the best,
PBK
