Slow day but unusual ring

Stopped by a park on the way to my breakfast meeting this morning and found this Commonwealth of the Bahamas nickel and this American Airlines Junior Stewardess ring. Don't think the ring is that old, but it was at 6" deep under a tree root. Coin is just unusual for this part of the country. Monty

Glad you got out Monty and found a few goodies, I hope to next week. I had my chemo Wed. and have been too poop to pop or just too durn tired. Hope next week is a good week for both of us. we need rain before I can do too much digging, seems like we got it all at once and now it's holding out on us. Have a good day.

The ring is I think something the airlines, back in the day
used to give out to little girls flying for the first time,
boys got pilot wings, to help calm them and devert their attention.

Nice coin too. I found a ahamas one dollar coin yesterday.

Nice finds Monty! A quick search show the rings were given out by American Airlines to all the young ladies that flew with them in the 1950s, cool find and HH, Mike

Nice finds Jim! Cool ring. Don't see them much anymore. I worked for Delta and back in the day they used to give the kids "wings" to pin on there shirts.
