us padlock help with id

a friend and my self was at church this eve getting the church ready for vbs yes olepossum goes to church couple times a month he found this pad lock it has a hinged loop it takes the hey to unlock and lock from the looks of it no rust fullof dirt is it soaking overnight it is either brass copper or bronze it is heavy for its size it is a half inch thick inch tall and the loop is a inch tall also and it says us on the front no other numbers or words here is a pencil drawing of the lock loop and key hole will send a pic of the actual lock in the next day or so any help would be greatly welcomed
