Went to my old middle school again today and had my best luck yet! For 2 hours i hunted, and dug, fortunatly it was cool out, cloudy, and there was a small breeze. I found in total $4.96 in clad, an abercrombie button (figures), what looks like a gold nugget (i doubt it though), and a very nice looking ring, my parents think is a weading band!!! On the inside engraved is a 6 over a dash looking like this...

ANYONE KNOW IF ITS REAL GOLD? (or silver, or platinum)

Congrats on a productive day at school...
The ring looks like it may be plated (sorry) but it is really hard to tell from the photos with any certainty. So take the plated remark with a large grain of salt...

Looks like that spot has been very good to you...

When i first saw the nugget my heat stopped and then i realed nawwww. Oh well.

With this 5 bucks in clad im still deciding what to get...

(1) franklin or liberty half

(2) SLQ's

(5) mercs

(10) buffaloes

(100) wheats

Still cant decide.

Nice haul of coins!! Congrats on the ring too!! I think the 6 is the size. It reminds me of gold plated rings us boys would buy to give to a girl we were going steady with in high school. Ihope yours is gold though. WTG!!! HH

Congrats on the ring! You should take it to a jeweler to make sure. I once found a poorly plated gold ring at a middle school. I thought it was a wedding band, but my parents said that rings like that (wedding band like) were given to boyfriend and girlfriend. If it isn't marked, then i suggest going to a jeweler to see if it is actually a wedding band.

Yeah, i will have to take the ring to a jeweler when i get a chance, gold plated still looks like gold!

The nugget (my best guest) is melted alluminum spraypainted gold. No idea
