I have been reading your forum for a while and finally bought a Bounty Hunter Quicksilver. My first trip to test it out was a field next to a buddies house to find a gold necklace and charm he lost years ago. We didn't find his necklace but I did find a silver chain. Second trip tonight went to the beach and found a silver ring. Having a great time hunting and appreciate all the info posted here.

When you make great finds like that, makes you wanna be out there 24/7 metal detecting! Some beginners luck you had. If you aren't using a pinpointer, you need to get one. You'll understand why once you start using it.

Congrats on getting the jewelry and the MDing bug!

You are right Born Free I have already found that hunting without a pinpointer can be difficult. I waste a lot of time searching for the item in the hole. I think I may pick one up this weekend. Thanks for the comments.
