That's alot of digging today ! Silver & little gold , Rings #115 , 116 & 117

Now that's a lot of digging :tard: . I went to a school field that turned out to be a bust this morning >:( . Lots of trash and very few coins , all clad . I decided to go up the street to a school that I hunted last year . I had hunted more that 8 times and found 12 rings on those hunts , 2 were 14k gold . I thought I would try and see if I could pull one more ring . I turn on my M6 walk 5 feet and get a target , +35 VDI at 3 inches . Hoping for big gold I turned the plug over and I had a ring ! First target :hello2: . I figured it must be a junk with a +35 VDI . It is marked .925 / 4K gold . This is a first , I have never heard of 4K gold . It turns out that the flower with a small stone is yellow in color and the rest is sterling .
By the end of a 3 + hour hunt I had found two more rings , one is .925 silver , a Hello Kitty earring .925 silver , butterfly knife and $7.68 in clad . I had forgot all about the first school ;D . I also posted a picture of all the junk , WOW ! Rings are numbers 115 , 116 & 117 for the year .
No Seated coins today but , I'm happy :headbang:
HH
Glen

nice finds! My guess is the "4k" gold is actually 14k with the 1 worn off, or removed during sizing. I don't think it's legal in the U.S. to sell less than 10k.

It is only 4K gold . I thought the same thing too . It's just on the flower , maybe the gold was used just to add color to the flower ?

I love how you always show the massive pile of junk you dig in order to get your sweet rings. I assume your goal for the season is 200? I'm inspired to go dig my first gold ring now. I've been a silver snob for too long now.

I'm hoping for 200 . If I end up with more than 180 I'll be happy ! I had 139 last year . ;D Good luck on your gold :icon_thumright:

These guys are doing the wave until you hit 200...:wav:

Do you fix your bent rings? I was thinking about buying a mandrel and watch hammer off Ebay to try to repair some of the rings I've found. I found and inexpensive set on Ebay for $20. Would appreciate your thoughts.

I do try and fix them . Someone on another forum told me to use different sized sockets and a hard plastic hammer , I had both and it works without spending any money on a mandrel .
Good luck !
