Found way back when. 1870's or 80's Metal baggage claim.

I found this baggage claim near Durant Oklahoma. It was bent in half. I finally managed to get it partially open to read it. A group of fine hunters invited me to hunt with them. Bigfootokie, gonehunting, and others.

Here is information on the MKTR. In 1870 the railway's name was changed to the Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railway Company, a change which defined both the company's strategic intent and its service area. The newly named railroad was intended to funnel business from Missouri, Kansas, and the north and east to a new rail route across Indian Territory to and through Texas. The Katy, touted in advertisements as the Gateway to Texas, breached the Texas frontier near the site of present Denison, where the first regular train arrived on Christmas Day, 1872.

Well you managed to have another find of the hunt... Remember you got banned from the Spanish trail hunt by out hunting me and BigfootOkie... Lol Emmit, Jim, and I are wanting to go back to that spot where you found this. We will have to wait until after Oklahoma's deer season due to hunters out there. But I'm ready... Congrats on the find.. Cool!

Thanks fellas for looking. Some look for riches I love the history finds. Of course I would not turn down a few gold bar finds here or there.

That is neat! I recently found a button from the same railroad. The weird part about it is that I found it in Central Virginia along an abandoned road bed.

Hey I love that button creskol WTG. I know they bought up a lot of little lines during their history. I would not of thought that far east though. Thanks for posting the button.
