Hi all, well I'd have to say yesterday was one of my finest
days water hunting this year! To start the day off right, as soon
as I got in the water I found a Indian head penny, next came a V nickel,
then another V nickel and all together I found 3 V nickels (can only read
one date 1906), two buffalo nickels (can't read either date),
a Indian Hear penny (can't read date), a Wheat penny (1916)
and a Mercury Dime(1925).

Got out of the water at this site and moved over to a swimming site.
Here I found about 3 dollars in clad coins, one cheap bracelet, a couple
of shotgun shells and 4 rings. Two of the rings were good. One was a
Sterling Silver Mans ring and the other was a 14K Jesus ladies ring.

Needless to say after I got out of the water, I went and bought a lottery
ticket. LOL

The pictures explain everything on why I couldn't read most of the dates.
Water and sand do a lot of harm to old coins in a lake over 100 yrs.

I can almost make out the dates on the V nickels from your picture. Get yourself a nice magnifying glass and hold them in different light and I'll bet you can make them out - one looks like 18??.

Thanks Cubfan64, you are right, I got out my 16 power magnifying
glass out and the dates on the V nickels are 1888 and 1889 and 1906.
I still can't ready the Indian head penny or the buffalo nickels. Thanks
for the tip!

I believe the Indian Head penny you found is an 1859 Copper Nickle, because the coin lacks the sheild between the wreaths on the reverse.

100% Correct!

Well, I don't know much about ater hunting but those nickels are looking great! Guess I thought they'd be looking like cookie coins or something.

Congrats on those digs!

Those are great treasures Ringfinder. I see there are two different heads on the Indian coins, who are the Indians? Anyone famous?

God bless
