Hey Neil, that field is on the 1930s maps just as it sits today so I guess it is fairly old after all...

At first when I saw machined threads inside of the tap I was thinking late 1800's, but after a bit of research, it turns out that machined threads were used 100 years earlier, so based on the design I am gonna have to say early 19th century, possibly a bit older!

Nice one Neil. Looks like a late 19th century gas valve. Found a few like that without the lever.

I have no knowledge on this, but wouldn't that spigot be a little small for beer? It would take all day to fill a mug. Whiskey keg maybe, gas valve is very believeable. Educate me, if you would please.

That is most certainly not a barrel tap. It is a gas valve from a wall sconce or chandelier.

Best Wishes,

Buckles
