Is this an early Naval Button

I found this button at an old home site in East Tennessee. It looks like an early British or US button, but I'm not sure.

The back looks like a turret type shank, but the button feels light, and may not be solid. However I cannot see any marks to make me believe it is a two piece button...

Can anyone ID this for me?

With the anchor and wedge shank design, I would think early 1900's military.

I think it may be modern as well. It is too light to be solid cast and I agree the shank looks modern.

I am thinking that it could be a WWII era Navy Chief Petty Officer's button. I saw some in Albert's that look similar.
