Hi, I haven't posted any finds since Spring and that wasn't much as it was a soaking wet season then. The summer got too hot so quick and finally a few cool days lately to get out for some digging. With my previous permission to detect 600 acres I returned to a field that where three 1800's homes were located on the 1874 map that I plucked out LC's and flat buttons. Recently I've started viewing the 1853 map and it shows two more homes in the same field - no longer there in 1874 :icon_thumright: So off I went!

I gained permission from another farmer and I am currently waiting for him to get his corn and beans out of his fields... I CAN'T WAIT! His fields contains TWELVE EARLY 1800'S HOME SITES! Some if not all could be colonial cabins/sites. Hopefully in another week I can get into that dirt

Here's the digs worth posting from the first field this past week...

It's always nice to see those flying eagles staring back up at you... this one is a buckle.
UPDATE: My recent google search is showing me that this is a c.1820-1830 Militia Eagle Belt Buckle. Awsome!

... and along came a very shallow and toasted Matron Head, you can just barely see the image and LIBERTY.

Flat buttons reading Gilt London and W.Wallis Extra Rich (this one has plenty of gold still intact), two flat pewter, and some others I can't identify.
