I got out for an hour this morning to an old town site that vanished in the 1850s time time frame. This site has been detected for over 20 years, we have made nice finds as coins go. This is the site I found my 1830 large cent this spring. The crop is still on the field, so I decided to check along the edge of the field. This is why it has been missed all these years, no one really checked the outer edge near the river. I am not sure of its age, but is some time in the 1800s time period. This is the second snake buckle in 10 years or so. The pewter spoon handle has some funny marks, I think the one is a beaver, I never find the whole spoon just parts. HH

That's a nice one, I like these. Very snake like, unlike many of the others I have, often double headed & bird like. See my latest post, I had one on Sunday :icon_thumright:

Nice finds all around, it looks like you have some good detecting areas, lots of old history. :headbang:

that's the coolest snake I have seen! I have found a couple and they are more like a double swan head as mentioned above. Never seen one with the tongue out like that.

Congrats!
