HI Smilodon; Another thing you could try is to trace back the origin of -----

Crest I see on that seal and/or any group(s) of lettering you may see as in the picture you Posted. I believe it is Colonial ok. A penccil rubbing may help bring out some of the details of the lettering as well. Good Luck. PEACE:RONB

Well that link shows a cloth seal not a bale seal the way they worked/made & sealed are completely different. There research on that site was pretty poor.
Cloth Seals date to the Medieval period and later.
