Firstly, I have no interest in selling these.

I have unearthed some beautiful coins from a jewellery box, passed down to us after a bereavement.

1 - George V half sovereign

2 - Seven small coins in a gold coloured bracelet, all George V, with different head images. On the rear it simply say "1_12 ANNA INDIA" with dates ranging from 1917 to 1950

3 - A silver coin in a necklace - Queen Victoria head with latin writing on the front, Victoria Dei Gratia Britt Regina VD; the rear has four separate symbols, 3 lions etc wording is - Mal.Y.Pense, dated 1887.

4 - All Queen Victoria coins the number 3 (pence) on the rear with the crown above; all separately dated 1887 through to 1901.

5 - George V three pence coins, dated 1917, 1919, 1920 and 1934.

6 - George VI 3 pence silver coins dated 1937, 1938 and 1940.

7 - Queen Victoria One Shilling silver coin dated 1893

8 - Queen Victoria One Shilling silver coin dated 1881

9 - United States Silver One Dime dated 1916

10 - Queen Victoria Full silver sovereign, dated 1887

11 - George VI silver sixpence, dated 1943

Does anyone have any idea on value? Should I just throw them away?

It's only the 2 gold coins you mention that have any real value, not sure why you would think of chucking gold away :icon_scratch:

Never seen a post make less sense.

Not interested in selling, but want a value ?
Not interested in selling, but might throw them away ?

You "unearthed" them. and in the same sentence they were passed down to you.

Be right cool if you could make up your mind, but don't try.

I see nothing wrong with this post, why all the hostility ??? unearthing some coins handed down, doesn't mean he dug them, any body wanting a value, doesn't mean he wants to sell :icon_scratch:

Stan with out seing pictures of the coins, it would be hard to value any :help: a picture of the coins might show us what they would grade :icon_thumleft:

I agree with SS, pictures are needed, but why chuck them anyway???. They don't take up much room and they're part of your family history, just a thought :dontknow:

Someone in your family valued them enough to save them, over a period of time. Probably many of the Vic coins were in circulation when the Geo V and VI were collected. But if they have no value to you, then give them to someone who will treasure them. A kid starting a coin collection would die and go to heaven for them. Worst case senario, you just missed Guy Faulk's (or nearly so) but it is such a waste to give them to the guy just for fireworks.

UK. Stan , Nice little inheritance there , I would love to see pics , but I can't say too much -
because I have never gotten my pic act together - do please check the American dime 1916
could be of the "Barber" variety (1892-1916) or the Winged Liberty (commonly called" mercury")
( 1916- 1945) If it is of the latter variety , you would love to see a D-mint mark on the reverse-
(Denver mint mark - aprox 240,000 minted their ) look at the lower left, near the olive branch .
This coin is currently on the first pic on the BANNER for T-Net . Argentium.
