As I promised, here are a few pictures of our finds in England. Many of the older stuff (more than 300 years) are still in England being authenticated and we should see them in the Spring.
This was a fantastic adventure, and I plan on returning next year. Jimmy Sierra and his crew put together a truly class act.
I have submitted a story to W&E, so these are just some other pictures of the items Rick (Detectodude) and I found.
As far as coins, we each found one silver hammered and both were Queen Elizabeth I sixpence. Mine is a 1574 and Ricks is a 1584. There were many newer coins. They are in the one picture together and include a King William copper, King George II 1734 half penny, 1806 King George III Penny, a silver 1811 King George III bank token 1 shilling 6 pence, 1862 Queen Vicotoria penny and some really nice buttons including a 45 Regiment and King George military button.
Some of the artifacts in the other pictures go back to about 1000 AD and include a viking or saxon strap end in the shape of an animal head, and lots of midddle ages finds from 1200 to 1400.
All in all it was just one fantastic trip. Thanks for looking.

Really nice finds. Thats one thing about hunting Europe, metal history goes back a lot farther then it does here.

Really neat group of finds. I was just curious about what sort of items you had to leave behind for authentication? Is it like the government checks your stuff out and they may give you a price for them or?

Great trip and finds Lance! England is truly a fantastic place to detect and experience. I went to Colchester and it was more like a Bed and Breakfast place, we stayed in an English home and I felt more submerged into their culture. Ate home cooked English meals as well. Was also cheaper than Jimmy Sierra's tour. Look forward to seeing your finds when you receive them! HH and thanks for sharing, Mike
