Yesterday I noticed that one of my old pounded sites just had the soybeans cut so thought I'd get out for a bit. Hit an area in the field where a late 1800s home used to be. Had walked through there before but not much had ever turned up. I decided to slow down in the trash and started making a few finds including 3 IHs, a shield nickel, a nice musketball and a couple of buttons. When I was cleaning up the stuff today I realized one of the buttons had some gilt so I jellied it. I was a little surprised to see what was revealed. Never seen anything like that before. Nothing great, but thought it was rather interesting and humorous. Anyone else ever dug one of these?

that's too funny. Nice digs.

What is the round thing on the bottom of the picture with the hole and two knobs?

Must have been an old blues singer who lived there :laughing7:

I bet you had a good chuckle when you cleaned that button :laughing9:
