It would have been more fun digging these, but I did find them at a yard sale. Bought a cigar box full of locks and keys for the huge sum of $3.00! After sorting and cleaning I ended up with:
43 skeleton keys
2 pocket watch keys
1 clock key
19 lock keys
5 car keys
1 hand cuff (?) key
28 house keys
42 flat keys
3 locks
2 key tags
The locks are: an Eagle General Purpose from C&NW RR; a solid brass Yale lock; and a P&P lock
Not bad for a $3.00 investment.

Thanks for looking
Jonnie

I've seen some pretty impressive shipwreck items found in FL and not all in the water. You will find something old on your next hunt...positive thinking.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Brass locks are cool, if it works, and can be polished out, it would make a really nice addition to an antique cabinet or something.

I'll have to find someone around me that will buy my keys. I usually don't sell my finds but I have absolutely no connection to the many found keys.

Just remeber Jonnie Florida was the first place in the US that was discovered. I can guarentee if you find the right spots you will find old Spanish coins and relics. I live in Louisiana and seems like there are things 300 years and older being found here.

Preston, Florida is just about all paved over now. They build roads out of Indian Mounds, tore down old houses to build condos, and the rest, they covered with parking lots. But every time they tear down an old house, I try to get there first.
