2012 is off to a great start for me and my son, we got permission recently to hunt a spot that the owner has kept locked down for at least ten years and limited hunting prior to that. All told we've found over 140 bullets of various types including a rare confederate austrian and a button that I believe to be either a navy from 1812 or a local militia button. My son has pulled a ton of shrapnel including two very large hotchkiss frags. I'm ecstatic about the bowie knife which cleaned up well. We will continue to hammer this site and I hope to have more pictures soon! Thanks for looking!

Sites like that are few and far between these days. Hunt it until you two come back empty handed and tell NOBODY the location or you'll have enough poachers there to you to open a lemonade stand and get rich. Enjoy it and you have made some great finds. HH, Quindy.

Nice Hotchkiss Fragments and Bowie Knife, the second photo looks to be the base of a Read/Parrott shell also. Very nice Civil War finds, these are the kind of finds I like seeing on TreasureNet :icon_thumleft: :wink:
