Last attempt to dig up more dirt on this button was last week after posting on PBS History Finders Page.
Some say it may be a British Naval button but I`m still Digging
First pic was todays find under a swing at the park in the sand / No digging needed , i also found some small pieces of copper and some clad, nothing spectacular except the band
