I was metal detecting a sewer/sidewalk construction site near old Fort Brady est. 1779 through 1861. Later to become a federal courthouse in Sault Ste Marie. I found these between July and November of 2011. Today I figured out how to post and take pictures on these forums so I will start with these few finds.

Those are some nice early buttons and they are in great shape, especially the pewter Infantry buttons. I take it the site is right downtown and the only access you have to detect is when there is construction?

Nice finds whatever they are.

That is a better handful of buttons in a couple hunts than most folks on here would find in a year! That's what they are.

Will YOU recognize something as great as those buttons when you dig them, or will you throw them out with the trash, Rodger?

Seriously great finds. The rifles button is first rate, the Light Artillery is killer, and the pewter "I" is out of this world in terms of condition!

Amazing finds! I love that area of the country. I have a picture of me standing next to the Fort Brady sign when I was a kid. Too bad I didn't know about detecting back then.
