It's been forever since I posted my finds. I haven't been getting out much lately, but with this amazingly warm NJ weather, I am getting out more and more!

The following are all finds using my new Explorer SE Pro (stock coil) from the past 30 days or so. Not a bad way to start the year!

Finds include:
  • 1797 1/2 Real, Mexico City Mint
  • 1897 Indian Head Penny
  • 1904 Barber Dime (My first Barber dime!)
  • 1791 Duit (Netherlands)
  • Various buttons (Not Pictured)
  • 3 old spoons (Not Pictured)
  • A bunch of clad (Not Pictured)
  • A Pile of old What's-thats (Not Pictured)
  • Enough Can-Slaw to melt down and make a 10 foot tall can (In the trash)

1797-half-real.jpg
The Real was about 4" down. I knew what it was before I even picked it up out of the dirt.
1897-indian-head.jpg
This IH was 9" down, and did the Explorer crawl on the right side of the graph. Dead give-away.
1904-barber-dime.jpg
The dime was also 9" down, choppy signal. The coin was on it's side.
1791-duit.jpg
The Duit was a surprise. It was extremely shallow, on a hardened dirt road. At first I thought it was a worn out wheatie. Neil was there when I found it, and he said it was a Dutch coin. He was right!

What a great day out in February! The finds were not exactly flowing but anytime out in Feb is a great day!.

The funny thing is that in two of my last three outings, my hunting partner has found a Dutch Duit! One inland, and one at the shore. I guess my motto should be "duit with Neil".

Here is my find from yesterday's outing. Nice, but not worthy of its own post!

I didn't know what a Duit was until yesterday....

Now, before each hunt, my motto will be - LET'S DUIT!!! ;D

Who is that well hidden man in the field, Neil? :tongue3:

There's a person in that photo? ???

Well, it could be an alien visitor I suppose. A damn fine looking one I might add. :D

Nice - your King has been attacked - I mentioned in another post where its funny that I have found and have seen ones found by others that look like people purposely jabbed the Kings with a knife

You know, I was wondering if that was intentional.... very interesting!
