I went to the "Field of Dreams" today with my friend Dave. Jim had to work so I took Dave. He has never hunted a farm field before and has really wanted to. Since there is nothing going on down the beaches lately I asked him to join me. He found a couple of wheatties and 2 heart pieces of jewelry and an arrowhead. He had so much fun but got tired pretty quickly from not detecting for so long. I went onto a different field that Jim and I haven't really touched that much. I found 2 indian head penneys, 1 wheattie, 1 silver mercury dime, a silver spoon with script initials, a couple of lipstick tubes and tops, a makeup top, and a colorful arrowhead. I also found another arrowhead that I think is a spear point, or so I was told it may be. Took alot of pics. It was a gorgeous day here in N.J. and I had to get out to enjoy it!

Boy those fields are just littered with everything - from the prehistoric, through the colonial, and on to the present!

Nice arrowheads. I always like hunting plowed fields where arrowheads can be found. A lot of larger "arrowheads" were actually knives rather than spear points.

I would love to see a quartz knife Steve. Do you have a picture of one? Yes the fields are always bursting forth with some nice stuff. I was hoping the farmer was going to plow the fields but he said that he probably won't do it for another 3 to 4 years with the way gas and see and so forth keeps going up. So many farm fields here in N.J. are for sale. It's a shame.

Diane, I don't have an example of a quartz knife, but you might post your finds on the Indian Artifact forum and get opinions from the experts over there. I'm sure someone over there would have an example of a quartz knife they could post up. I do know that a lot of the larger "arrowheads" are actually knives.

Great stuff Diane, what a field... The array of finds just don't stop. I like the monogrammed silver spoon. I couldn't make out the makers name. Your point is very similar to Jim's in material and shape. I'm still dreaming... Arty
