Re: Been a While, Got some coins! Pine Tree

Argentium, I have to agree wholeheartedly! This is one of the few "Holy Grails" of coin collectors! I have only heard of one other Pine Tree coin found on this site, and I think it was a half schilling...someone please get this post up on the Banner!

Honestly, this shows that They are still out there...
If you have a few days, weeks, or months of so so finds,
Keep the faith, you never know when the next peep will be something special.
(and unless you're hunting a really trashy area, dig EVERY signal, it pays off)
Thanks again to all my friends here and Staff at Treasurenet!
HH and great digs to all, Herbie.
PS, will bump this back up when I get the coin back, I have high hopes for
    the results on this one!

Re: Been a While, Got some coins! Pine Tree

    Congratulations Herb! That is awesome!

I remember telling you when we spoke on the phone I thought you were in a great area for finding one of those!

What was the weight of it? It looks like the shillings are over 60 grams! That is a hefty coin and must have sounded sweet!

Re: Been a While, Got some coins! Pine Tree

I didn't predict this find. Heck why try to predict that when I have a hard time guessing at Lotto numbers? But you have been pulling great things from the waters so why not a Pine Tree Shilling? I really hope the conservationists at NCS can do the coin justice. And it certainly belongs in a place of honor in your collection. Congrats on the banner and your perseverance. Oh, and try for the the full set of that year...really impress us!
