Got out on this kick-ass Friday. Started at 7am and was wearing a t-shirt....no coat!! I was actually sweating by 9. My first target was the toasted fatty followed by the buckle frame. Worked my way around the field and found the flat buttons really close together. The one flat button has a lot of gilt left on the back and also has a cool back mark that I've never seen before. This field has been really good to me over the years but the finds are getting slimmer and slimmer. The last target of the day was the New York cuff button. This is the 3rd New York button I've found at this field. The strange thing was, it was found less than a foot from another person's sloppy hole (I understand it's a farm field but you still need to fill your holes properly :BangHead:)

Of the small union buttons, it's one of my favorite looking. The Maine state seal staff button is my favorite.

It was definitely a great day to be out swinging, and even better if you can make a few finds. Love that backmark on the flat button. And the NY is nice too. Good hunt!
