Telegraph Key Pad

[Metal Illness]

Tuesday at the 1832 Home my relic finds were better than the 2 wheatys I found. I'm pretty sure this is a telegraph key pad. I researched them and whil I didn't find this specific one, I saw some simular. I think it is super cool. I have never seen one posted before!! The Eagle head has me stumped It is not threaded inside. My original thought was a head piece from a cane?? The hole in the top of the head and under the beak line up as seen in the picture. I really don't have a clue on this piece. Then the key chain of the Thunderbird is pretty cool. On the back it says "With thanks from the American Indian children" Thanks for looking; Bill

Is the eagle head the top off of a cane?

The eagle is the pommel off of a sword. Go back and find the rest! Nice finds
Most of the info I'm finding is saying 1812-30's (I'm not a sword expert, I collect knives)
Here is a pic of a "war of 1812 officers sword" (thats what the description says) Looks like a dead ringer of your pommel

May I suggest another alternative to your telegraph find?

The top of a model T or A for coil box. I've found one of those too. The early ones were on a wood coil box...later aftermarket ones came in stamped boxes. I'll bet if you looked..or even one the under side of the "T" shaped piece that you will find a Ford marking.

A big thank you Scavenger. I had no clue where to start on researching this piece. I am blowed away by the info. you provided. This has got to be my coolest find. i was dissapointed I didn't pull any Silvers at this site. The Eagle Pommel more than makes up for it!! LoL
