Turns out the Eagle is a Officers Sword Pommel, from the war of 1812!! Wow are you kidding me? This Has got to be my coolest find. Here is the link provided by Scavenger, it is safe! http://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/7688983 Thanks for looking; Bill

Glad I could help (for once, usually I'm the one needing help LOL) I'd love to find something that cool, any chances you'll find some of the other parts of the sword?

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. To think when I left that aite that day I was dissapointed I didn't find Silver......Duh, I had somthing better and didn't know it. This is truly an amazing hobby, it is the unknown that keeps us swinging our coils!! In about 16 months of detecting I have.found relics from the qar of 1812, Civil war, WW1 and WW2. Good luck and HH; Bill
