Update: email from William Leigh down the page.

I haven't been posting much, or detecting much, of late. Figured I'd post this past weeks finds. Managed this Cohannet Rifle Corps button. It was the last target of the day and a nice surprise. I've been hitting this place for three years and it still produces goodies. I can't find too much info on it aside from they were out of Taunton, MA and were formed in 1836. Got some georges/largies as well as some relics. I didn't scratch the quarter (I'm guessing it was the plow). Also found a "trime" which I seem to have lost and some buttons that are already put away.

Absolutely incrediable finds!! The property looks big enough to last you for several hunts. Can't wait to see what else comes out. Any one of these would have been a stellar post, but all of them in one hunt, awesome. Huge congrats.

Thanks, it's actually a combo of hunts. And yes, the property is huge. It's an interesting place because it seems like the ideal spot for metal detecting but I've only seen one other person detecting there in three years. It's public property and the farmers don't care about people detecting there. I've actually followed behind the tractors detecting while they were plowing there.

I really like that button. I can't see all the detail from the pic and the condition of the button, but I do see a lot of "similar" buttons in Albert's book.

Excellent digs. So what coppers do you have there? I'm still looking for my first seated quarter.

I'll trade you one of my MA buttons for any coins you have prior to 1700 with a tree on them.
